Day Twenty-Three: God the Healer: Working All Things

                                                          Day Twenty-Three

"having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will."  Ephesians 1:11

First, I want to offer a prayer for myself and all of you, dear, faithful followers and readers, spirit friends and family, that the crud and junk of your heart would be ripped about by the surgical love of the Father and replaced with the fruits of the spirit, that Christ may look into you as a mirror and see himself reflected back.  I pray that however distant you may have turned yourself these past few years, that this Christmas and year to come, will be a time of refining and bringing back into the arms of the one who loves you beyond all comprehension.  There is no shame, no guilt, or condemnation here.  Only love, grace, and mercy and I pray that would be your true blessing and gift this Christmas.  That is what I impart to you, through Christ's heart into mine then poured into yours, that his love, grace, and mercy would begin to fill you, transform you, and make you more like him.

So, the word "predestination" stands out here, without going into it fully, I just see it as the very fact that God called us before we were conscious of him, and that we all have our journeys and paths that lead us eventually to Him.  I pray that you will rest in the promise that you throughout all your battles, searchings, and despairings that he awaits on the other side ready to begin anew relationship of love and peace.

Furthermore, he called you according to his purpose, and yet also, whatever you have been going through is part of his purpose for your life.  You can know that this year to come, whatever come what may, that it is all planned for his purpose, and increasingly for your own good.  He plans it out according to his own counsel, meaning he thought specifically of who you were to be, before your inception, before the dawn of time, and planned out every circumstance you would go through....why, so that in your trials, troubles, weaknesses, and lowliness, you would turn to him for your peace, sanctification, and salvation.  That is his divine purpose, my friend, to have divine relationship with you.

Rest in that promise of his purpose, however long it takes you to get there, he will be waiting.  He planned your arrival before you even existed and he will wait, showing you his mercy and grace along the way, until you are ready to come to him.  Yes, he is the ultimate gentleman.

Seek him this year, I pray, with all diligence and openness of heart.

"Ask and it will be given to you, seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, adn the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened."  Matthew 7:7-8
