Day Sixteen: God The Healer: You've been "lavished"

                                                               Day Sixteen

"which he lavished upon us" Ephesians 1:8

Yesterday we talked about the riches of his grace, today we come to understand that not only does he apply these riches to our lives, but he "lavishes" us with them.  The famous Funk & Wagnall's Dictionary defines "lavish" as "to give out profusely" or with to give with superabundance.  So, he gives us this rich grace because he enjoys giving us gifts, and because of all the gifts we could possibly need, this is the one that is needed the most.

Think of how many times you mess up, you get angry with your loved one, friends, cat, dog.  Or you do something that you think will just make God so angry with you, that makes you turn your very own back on him. Can you think of any times like that?  This is clearly a misunderstanding the gospel of grace.  Don't let any hard-nose bible thumpers thump you into a corner of your own sin and shame.  Be free to experience the grace of God.  You are forgiven for your mistakes and loved; loved so much that he offers you his grace.  A grace that flows because of Christ's blood; and yes is unending and without relief.

Find freedom and healing in the grace of God lavished upon you this day.  I pray that because of this you will be free from the chains of bondage and be able to experience the love of God in all abundance, and truly come to know him and the person he has claimed you to be.

Love him, trust him, walk with him.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain.  On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me."  1 Corinthians 15:10
